Goalless draw with Morton leaves Dumbarton perched just above drop zone

Dumbarton remain just two points clear of Livingston after they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Morton in the Scottish Championship. The points leaves the Sons without a win in three league games as they look to avoid relegation, but they could have been worse had Ross Forbes not hit the post late on.Forbes found space in a crowded area to get a shot away with 10 minutes remaining, but saw his shot cannon back off the post before Denny Johnstone fired the rebound wide.Gregor Buchanan went close moments later at the other end but Derek Gaston was alert to smother the chance.Jamie Ewings had been the busier of the two keepers before that, producing good saves to prevent Darren Barr and Denny Johnstone scoring as the match headed towards a goalless draw.
