Saint Mary's hangs on for 72-69 win over Pacific
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Jock Landale scored 32 points on 12-for-20 shooting and hauled in seven rebounds to help lift Saint Mary's to its 14th straight victory, 72-69 over Pacific on Saturday night.
Emmett Naar added 12 points and Calvin Hermanson had 11 for Saint Mary's (19-2, 8-0 West Coast Conference), which shot 50 percent from the field in a game where neither team led by more than seven points.
Late in the second half, Saint Mary's edged back on top with a 3-pointer from Tanner Krebs to make it 68-66 with a minute to play. Pacific (10-11, 5-3) then tied it up with Jahlil Tripp's putback of his own miss but couldn't reclaim the advantage as the Gaels pulled away from the free throw line down the stretch.
Lafayette Dorsey led Pacific with 18 points. Tripp and Anthony Townes finished with 14 points apiece.
