Reynolds' career night leads Pacific past Santa Clara 63-45
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Miles Reynolds tossed in a career-high 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting and Pacific coasted to a 63-45 victory over Santa Clara on Thursday night.
Lafayette Dorsery added 14 points off the bench for the Tigers (11-13, 6-5 West Coast Conference), who moved into a tie for fourth place with San Diego.
Reynolds accounted for nearly half of Pacific's points in the first half, scoring 14 as the Tigers took a 29-20 lead. Reynolds' 3-pointer 50 seconds into the second half sparked a 9-0 spurt that pushed the advantage to 41-23. Santa Clara (8-15, 5-6) pulled within 55-45 with three minutes left, but went scoreless from there.
The Tigers outshot the Broncos from the floor 49 percent to 32, had a 40-26 edge in rebounds and scored 38 points in the paint to just 16 for Santa Clara.
KJ Feagin hit five 3-pointers and paced the Broncos with 21 points. He scored 16 of Santa Clara's 20 first-half points.
