Lyons scores 19 off bench, Furman tops NAIA Montreat 103-47

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Jordan Lyons scored a career-high 19 points off the bench, including five 3-pointers, Daniel Fowler scored 14 points with six assists, Matt Rafferty scored 13 and pulled down 11 rebounds and Furman walloped NAIA Montreat 103-47 Thursday night.

The Paladins won their fourth straight and found minutes for all 13 players with 11 scoring, six in double figures. John Davis III and Clayton Mounce each scored 13 points (a career-high for Mounce), Devin Sibley added 12 for Furman (8-3), which shot an even 50 percent with 27 assists on 39 made field goals. The assists and points scored were season highs.

Furman has won seven of its last eight games and out-rebounded the Cavaliers 53-36. Jalen Williams had 11 boards and nine points.

Montreat (12-2) was held to 18 baskets on 68 tries (27 percent), and was led by Jeron Hemphill and David Caldwell with seven points each. Hemphill and Caldwell also had five rebounds apiece.
