Abilene Christian pummels Division III Howard Payne, 112-62

ABILENE, Texas -- Jaren Lewis scored 15 points, leading eight players in to double-figure scoring as Abilene Christian routed Division III Howard Payne, 112-62 on Thursday night.

The Wildcats started fast and held a 62-30 halftime lead over the small college from Brownwood, Texas.

Abilene Christian (2-1) had a very good night shooting, knocking down 42 of 67 shots from the field (62.7 percent), including 9 of 19 from behind the three-point stripe. The Wildcats shot 19 of 24 (79 percent) from the free-throw line.

Jalone Friday and Isaiah Tripp each contributed 14 points, and Jaylen Franklin, Hayden Farquhar, B.J. Maxwell and Tevin Foster each added 12.

Khyce Randall paced the Yellow Jackets with 22 points, hitting 4 of 10 from the field, including 2 of 7 from long distance. But he did most of his damage from the free-throw line, where he converted 12 of 14 attempts.
