Bosha's only bucket of the game helps Lamar beat SHSU in OT
BEAUMONT, Texas -- Zjori Bosha made just one shot the whole game, drilling a 3-pointer in the final seconds of overtime as Lamar rallied to beat Sam Houston State 84-77 on Saturday night.
Bosha's trey gave Lamar a 78-75 lead with 37 seconds left in the extra period. Nick Garth made four straight free throws and Josh Nzeakor added two more for the final score.
The Bearkats led by as much as 18 as Lamar trailed the entire game until Colton Weisbrod pulled down an offensive rebound and put it back for a 66-65 lead with 20 seconds left.
Garth finished with a career-best 29 points, making 11 of 12 free throws, and Weisbrod totaled 17 points with Nzeakor adding 16 with 11 rebounds for Lamar (12-8, 4-3 Southland Conference).
John Dewey III had 18 points for the Bearkats (11-9, 5-2), who had won five straight previously.
SHSU went into the break with a 32-17 advantage. The Bearkats shot 46 percent while limiting Lamar to just five field goals in the first period as the Cardinals hit 21 percent of their floor shots. Lamar finished hitting 25 of 59 (42 percent) from the floor.
