Fletcher's triple-double leads Toledo to MAC West crown

DEKALB, Ill. -- Tre'Shaun Fletcher scored 20 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished 11 assists and Toledo walloped Northern Illinois 97-67 Tuesday night to clinch the Mid-American Conference West Division title outright.

The Rockets (21-9, 13-4) have won the MAC West seven times. Fletcher shot 7 of 11 from the floor, a perfect 4-for-4 at the line and his 11 assists were a career-best as he recorded the second triple-double in school history. Toledo turned 11 Northern Illinois turnovers into 20 points, never trailed, were up 48-27 at the half and led by as many as 36 points.

Jaelan Sanford added 16 points with seven rebounds, Luke Knapke was a perfect 5-for-5 shooting and added 13 points. Eleven players scored for the Rockets, who outscored Northern Illinois 36-7 in points off the bench.

Eugene German led the Huskies (12-18, 5-12) with 27 points. The sophomore has scored in double figures in every game this season.
