Lacey, Anderson lead Navy past St. Francis Brooklyn 85-76

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Tom Lacey scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half when Shawn Anderson had 10 of his 13 and Navy turned back St. Francis Brooklyn 85-76 in the round-robin FGCU Shootout on Friday.

The Midshipmen (4-2) were down two at the half but shot 61 percent and made 16 of 22 free throws in the second half.

George Kiernan had five points and Lacey four in a 9-0 burst that put Navy up 56-45 with 13:19 to play. The Midshipmen kept the lead around 10 most of the way, making 3 of 4 free throws to go up 79-66 with 2:3 to play.

The Terriers (1-3) got a 3-point play from Josh Nicholas and a layup from Darelle Porter to get it back to eight with two minutes to play and had it down to five on a Nicholas 3 with just under a minute remaining but Hasan Abdullah hit 2 of 4 free throws and Cam Davis made two to close it out.

Evan Wick had 14 points and Abdullah 13 for Navy. Nicholas led St. Francis with 14.
