Columbia hits 13 3s in 87-42 rout of Sarah Lawrence

NEW YORK -- Peter Barba and Kyle Castlin scored 16 points apiece and combined for seven of Columbia's 13 3-pointers, and the Lions held Division III Sarah Lawrence to nine first-half points in an 87-42 win on Saturday.

Columbia scored 35 unanswered points in the first half for a 46-8 lead. Barba hit a 3 and Columbia led 49-9 at halftime after Sarah Lawrence made just 3 of 31 field goals (9.7 percent).

The Gryphons' offense picked it up in the second half, scoring 33 points, but couldn't overcome a 40-point halftime deficit.

Randy Brumant grabbed 11 rebounds and made three assists for Columbia (3-10), which outrebounded Sarah Lawrence 57-34 in its final non-conference game of the season. Columbia finished shooting 40.5 percent from the floor to Sarah Lawrence's 24.1 percent. Barba made a career-high four 3s.

Enike Anyia scored 14 points and Austin Jones added 11 with six assists for the Gryphons.
