Lewis helps Harvard hand Penn 1st Ivy loss with 76-67 win

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Chris Lewis scored a career-best 25 points and Harvard handed Pennsylvania its first conference loss with a 76-67 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Lewis was 10 of 14 from the field for the Crimson (12-11, 7-1 Ivy League), who have won three straight and are tied with Penn for first place in the conference standings. Seth Towns added 17 points and Justin Bassey had 12 points with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Harvard led by seven at the break and Lewis scored 10 points as part of a 21-14 start to the second half that extended the Crimson's lead to 52-38 with 12:20 to play. Penn got as close as 70-63 with 2:32 remaining, but Towns replied with a 3-pointer to help keep Harvard on top for the win.

Ryan Betley scored 16 points with six rebounds for the Quakers (17-7, 7-1). AJ Brodeur had 14 points and seven rebounds and Max Rothschild had 12 points.
