McNeese beats D-II Mississippi College 80-42
LAKE CHARLES, La. -- James Harvey and Will Robinson scored 14 points each, and McNeese beat Division II Mississippi College 80-42 on Friday night.
The game was close for the first eight minutes and the Cowboys (2-3) pulled away with 14 straight points to lead 25-11. The Choctaws answered with four points and McNeese scored another 10 straight and led 37-16 at the break. The Cowboys had runs of 10 and 11 straight in the second half to nearly double their advantage.
Harvey was 4 of 9 from 3-point range and Robinson made all eight of his foul shots. Jarren Greenwood added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Kevin Hunt scored 10.
Brandon Boston scored 13 to lead Mississippi College.
McNeese made 27 of 52 shots (51.9 percent) and outrebounded the Choctaws 44-26. Mississippi College made 17 of 56 shots (30.4 percent).
