Louisiana-Lafayette tops Appalachian St. 81-73

BOONE, N.C. -- Freshman Mylik Wilson scored 21 of his career-high 30 points in the second half and Louisiana-Lafayette rallied to beat Appalachian State 81-73 on Monday night for its second largest comeback win under coach Bob Marlin.

Jalen Johnson scored 13 points with 10 boards for the Ragin' Cajuns (7-9, 2/3 Sun Belt), who trailed by as many as 15 in the first half and 46-39 at halftime, but pulled ahead on a 17-3 run for a 76-64 lead with 4:03 left.

Dou Gueye added 15 points with seven rebounds and Calvin Temple scored 12 points. Wilson had nine rebounds and five steals.

Justin Forrest scored 21 points and Isaac Johnson and Michael Bibby added 12 apiece for the Mountaineers (9-7, 3-2), who were outrebounded 40-31. Adrian Delph scored 11 points and O'Showen Williams made seven assists.

Louisiana-Lafayette plays Georgia State on the road on Thursday. Appalachian State faces Texas-Arlington on the road on Thursday.
