Whitfield's 21 carries UMKC over Chicago St. 69-51

CHICAGO -- Rob Whitfield hit five 3-pointers and scored 21 points as Missouri-Kansas City beat Chicago State 69-51 on Saturday.

Jordan Giles scored 12 points for UMKC (12-11, 4-4 Western Athletic Conference), which won its third straight, Josiah Allick added 10 points and Javan White had eight rebounds.

The Kangaroos scored the first 15 points of the game, shot 57% in the first half when they made 8 of 12 3-pointers, and led 41-24. They finished 8 of 15 from distance and shot 46%.
