Alabama A&M beats MVSU in four overtimes 94-92

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- — Brandon Powell banked in a short jumper with six seconds remaining in the fourth overtime to lift Alabama A&M to a 94-92 win over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday.

MVSU’s Devin Gordon missed a baseline 3-point attempt at the buzzer.

Cameron Tucker’s bucket for Alabama A&M with 25 seconds left tied the game at 87-all after the third overtime. David McCoy of MVSU made a basket with 30 seconds left in the second overtime to send it to a third extra period tied at 79-all. Alabama’s A&M Dailin Smith sent the game into the second overtime on a 3-pointer with 27 seconds left tied at 68.

MVSU’s Caleb Hunter hit a long 3-pointer forced the first overtime tied at 61-all.

Tucker had 28 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for the Bulldogs (5-17, 4-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Jalen Johnson added 19 points and 13 rebounds, Myles Parker scored 16 points and Smith added 13.

Gordon scored 21 points to lead the Delta Devils (1-21, 1-11). Gary Grant and Terry Collins had 16 points each, Hunter scored 13 and McCoy added 12. Grant also had 16 rebounds and eight assists.
