Medor scores 17, Fordham takes down Wagner 68-64 in OT

NEW YORK -- — Japhet Medor scored 17 points as Fordham beat Wagner 68-64 in overtime on Monday night in the season opener for both teams.

Medor added six assists and three blocks for the Rams. Elijah Gray added 16 points while going 5 of 6 from the floor, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, and 4 for 4 from the line, and also had six rebounds. Joshua Rivera shot 4 for 7 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 1 of 4 from the free-throw line to finish with 10 points.

Melvin Council Jr. finished with 21 points and two steals for the Seahawks. Tyje Kelton added 17 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks for Wagner. In addition, Rahmir Moore finished with 12 points and three steals.

Moore's driving layup and the end of regulation appeared to be blocked by Abdou Tsimbila but was ruled a goaltend, which made it 60-all and forced overtime. Medor hit a 3-pointer to cap an 8-0 run that made it 68-62 with 42 seconds to play.
