Seton Hall defeats Wagner 72-51; coaches have a postgame dustup

NEWARK, N.J. -- — Dre Davis scored 17 points as Seton Hall beat Wagner 72-51 on Saturday with the two head coaches apologizing after exchanging words following the game.

Pirates head coach Shaheen Holloway pulled away from Wagner coach Donald Copeland after a heated conversation in the handshake line and the two had to be separated. According to the Asbury Park Press, the disagreement was over a Wagner player fouling a Pirate with 37 seconds remaining and the outcome well settled.

The coaches, both former Seton Hall players, apologized after the game.

Kadary Richmond had 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Pirates. Jaden Bediako also finished with 11 points, while adding seven rebounds.

Tyje Kelton had nine points, six rebounds and two steals for the Seahawks (1-3).
