North Carolina Central secures 77-46 win against Coppin State

DURHAM, N.C. -- — Fred Cleveland Jr. scored 19 points as North Carolina Central beat Coppin State 77-46 on Saturday night.

Cleveland also contributed five rebounds and seven assists for the Eagles (13-8, 5-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Keishon Porter scored 17 points, going 7 of 8 (2 for 3 from 3-point range). Josh Smith shot 4 for 8 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 1 of 3 from the free throw line to finish with 10 points.

The Eagles (2-18, 1-5) were led in scoring by Ryan Archey, who finished with 19 points. Greg Spurlock added nine points for Coppin State. Camaren Sparrrow also put up seven points.

Both teams next play Monday. North Carolina Central hosts Morgan State and Coppin Stateplays South Carolina State on the road.
