La Salle secures 67-51 victory against Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. -- — Andres Marrero scored 20 points as La Salle beat Lafayette 67-51 on Saturday.

Marrero shot 6 for 14 (5 for 12 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line for the Explorers (8-2). Jhamir Brickus added 14 points while shooting 4 for 10, including 4 for 8 from beyond the arc, and he also had seven rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. Daeshon Shepherd shot 4 for 9, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc to finish with 11 points.

The Leopards (1-10) were led in scoring by Eric Sondberg, who finished with 13 points. Lafayette also got 12 points and eight rebounds from Kyle Jenkins. In addition, Mark Butler had eight points. The Leopards prolonged their losing streak to seven straight.

La Salle's next game is Saturday against Miami (FL) on the road. Lafayette hosts Quinnipiac on Thursday.
