South Alabama secures 83-67 win over Alabama A&M

MOBILE, Ala. -- — Tyrell Jones scored 18 points as South Alabama beat Alabama A&M 83-67 on Thursday night.

Jones shot 6 for 16, including 4 for 10 from beyond the arc for the Jaguars (7-5). Samuel Tabe scored 13 points while going 4 of 12 and 5 of 11 from the free throw line, and added 10 rebounds. Isiah Gaiter was 4 of 12 shooting, including 0 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 5 for 6 from the line to finish with 13 points, while adding six rebounds.

Chad Moodie led the way for the Bulldogs (1-11) with 13 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. Jayland Randall added 12 points and two steals for Alabama A&M. In addition, Dylan McLean finished with 10 points. The loss was the Bulldogs' sixth in a row.

Both teams next play Saturday. South Alabama visits Old Dominion and Alabama A&M takes on Georgia on the road.
