Terrence Edwards added 15 points while shooting 5 for 10 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 4 of 6 from the free throw line, and he also had five rebounds. T.J. Bickerstaff had 14 points and was 5 of 9 shooting and 4 of 5 from the free throw line.
The Zips (18-6) were led in scoring by Greg Tribble, who finished with 20 points and two steals. Ali Ali added 17 points for Akron. Enrique Freeman also had 15 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.
