Maggee's 31 PTs lifts Wofford past N. Florida 86-83

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Fletcher Magee shot 6 of 11 from 3-point range and scored 31 points, Cameron Jackson scored 23 on 11-of-14 shooting and collected 10 rebounds and Wofford beat winless North Florida 86-83 on Sunday.

Osborn Blount's 3-pointer put the Ospreys ahead 79-76 with 2:24 remaining. Jackson responded with a tip-in basket off Magee's missed 3. Blount then missed a 3 before Magee converted a 4-point play on a made 3 when Blount fouled him. The Terriers led 82-79 with 79 seconds left and never trailed again.

Wofford (3-2) led 45-33 at halftime before North Florida (0-6) went on an 18-6 run and tied it at 51 with Ryan Burkhardt's 3 with 13:06 left. Nathan Hoover added 14 points for Wofford and Matthew Pegram chipped in 10.

Ivan Gandia-Rosa led North Florida with 21 points, Nathan Horchler had 12, J.T. Escobar 11 and Garrett Sams and Trip Day each had 10.

Magee, who scored 32 points in a loss against California on Thursday, has averaged 28.6 points in Wofford's last three games.
