Andrews leads way as S. Alabama runs away from Mobile 71-49

MOBILE, Ala. -- Jordan Andrews scored 18 points, Josh Ajayi scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and South Alabama defeated NAIA member Mobile 71-49 on Monday night in the Jaguars home opener.

Mobile proved scrappy in the first half and trailed 29-25 at halftime. But Andrews took over and scored 10 points during a 17-4 South Alabama run to start the second half and put the Jaguars up 46-29 with a 3-pointer with 15:41 remaining.

Nick Davis added 13 points and six rebounds and Rodrick Sikes scored 12 for South Alabama (1-1).

JaBarie Escoffery scored 12 points shooting 6 for 9 from the floor and Tyler Williams added 12 for the Rams.

The Jaguars lead all-time series against Mobile 4-0, and the game marked the first meeting of the schools since South Alabama's 74-63 win against Mobile on Nov. 16, 2011.
