Calhoun, Alexander help Tennessee Tech beat Boyce 105-48

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Shaq Calhoun scored 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting and Courtney Alexander had a double-double to help Tennessee Tech beat Division II Boyce College 105-48 on Thursday night.

Alexander made all six of his field-goal attempts and finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Aleksa Jugovic also scored 14, Curtis Phillips had 12, Cade Crosland added 11 and Micaiah Henry 10 for Tennessee Tech (2-1).

The Golden Eagles scored the first 14 points and led by double figures the rest of the way. Calhoun converted a 3-point play to make it 52-24 at halftime and he scored seven points during a 14-2 run to open the second half that gave Tennessee Tech a 40-point lead.

The Golden Eagles shot 60 percent from the field and scored 32 points off 24 Boyce turnovers.

Adam Rabke had 14 points and Drew McKay added 11 for the Bulldogs, but the duo combined to make just 10 of 29 from the field.
