Niagara pulls away in second half, beats Fairfield 95-83

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Kahlil Dukes scored 22 points, Marvin Prochet and Matt Scott each had double-doubles and Niagara pulled away in the second half to beat Fairfield 95-83 on Saturday.

Prochet and Scott had 19 points and 11 rebounds apiece, while Dukes added six boards and four assists. Keleaf Tate had 10 points for Niagara (17-10, 10-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).

Jonathan Kasibabu scored nine points in an 11-0 run that pulled Fairfield (10-14, 5-8) within three points with 15 minutes left. Dukes answered with a jumper and a 3-pointer before hitting Dominic Robb for a layup to cap an 11-2 spurt over the next 2 1/2 minutes and the Purple Eagles led by double figures from there.

Tyler Nelson led Fairfield with 17 points, while Aidas Kavaliauskas and Ferron Flavors Jr. scored 14 apiece.

Niagara outrebounded the Stags 48-34, shot 51 percent from the field and outscored Fairfield 15-4 from the foul line.
