Small, Cohen help Green Bay defeat Detroit 107-97

DETROIT -- Khalil Small scored 26 points with 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals, Sandy Cohen added 31 points and Green Bay raced out of the regular season with a 107-97 defeat of Detroit Mercy on Saturday.

David Jesperson added 20 points and Kameron Hankerson 12 for Green Bay (12-19, 7-11 Horizon League). Hankerson opened the game with a 3-pointer, Cohen and Small followed with baskets around a Detroit turnover and the Phoenix never trailed, building a lead as large as 29 points early in the second half.

Josh McFolley and Roschon Prince led Detroit (8-23, 4-14) with 36 and 30 points respectively.

Green Bay shot 56 percent from the field (36 of 64) with 13 3-pointers, and Detroit was 36 of 72 with nine treys. Cohen scored a career-high 36 points on Thursday night.

The teams meet again in Detroit for the Horizon League's Motor City Madness tournament, which begins March 2.
