UC Riverside gets 2nd Big West win, top CSU Northridge 69-62

LOS ANGELES -- Dikymbe Martin scored 18 points, six of them in the final three minutes, as UC Riverside held off a late rally to beat Cal State Northridge, 69-62 in a Big West contest Wednesday night.

Martin hit a jumper with 2:15 left that staked Riverside to a 14-point advantage, 62-48, and answered Reggie Theus Jr.'s layup with two free throws with 1:29 remaining to make it 64-50. The Matadors rallied behind three 3-pointers from Terrell Gomez to get within six points with nine seconds left.

UC Riverside (7-18, 2-9) has won two of its last three games after snapping a 10-game losing streak with its first Big West win at Hawaii. The Highlanders dropped a 62-52 decision at UC Irvine on Saturday.

Chance Murray had 14 points and 10 rebounds for UC Riverside.

Theus finished with 19 points to lead Northridge (6-20, 3-9), with Tavrion Dawson adding 17. Lyrik Schreiner and Gomez each added 11 points and Micheal Warren pulled down 13 rebounds.
