Diallo, Holt lift Providence past Sacred Heart 106-60
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Alpha Diallo had 19 points and 14 rebounds for his 17th career double-double as Providence easily defeated Sacred Heart 106-60 on Tuesday night.
Emmitt Holt added 16 points for the Friars, while A.J. Reeves chipped in 15. Luwane Pipkins had 13 points, seven assists and three steals as all five starters finished in double figures.
Providence has won 17 of the last 18 openers, with the lone defeat coming in the 2008-09 season against Northeastern.
E.J. Anosike had 20 points for the Pioneers. Aaron Clarke added 12 points. Kinnon LaRose had 11 points.
