Mohamed Sanu's agent, Mike McCartney, on the trade from the Falcons to the Patriots: "Mohamed leaves Atlanta with a heavy heart because he loves the organization, his teammates, the coaches, and the fan base. He's obviously excited to go to New England and be on a team poised for a deep playoff run. I have a ton of respect for how Atlanta handled this trade. There was great communication, and they expressed to me over and over what a tremendous professional Mohamed was during his time there.''

Falcons, at 1-6, have decision with 1st-rounder Chris Lindstrom, who was placed on IR Sept. 9 with broken right foot. The RG is progressing “very good'' and badly wants to play, but it's 50/50 right now whether the team will activate him from IR. Based on the season thus far, probably would be wise to keep Lindstrom out and start new in 2020. Lindstrom has to be on IR 6 weeks before practicing: Oct. 21, today. Team then has 21 days to activate him from practice. Lindstrom's boot coming off soon

Falcons trail by double digits at halftime versus Rams, 13-3, meaning they'll be playing catch-up once again. They've trailed by double digits in five of their seven games and have been out scored 120-50 on first halves this season. Matt Ryan has been sacked three times and hit seven times, and the pressure is keeping the offense from flowing freely. The sideshow is the battle between Julio Jones and new Rams CB Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey been talking smack, but Jones has four catches for 74 yards.
