Michael Thomas was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Month after catching 37 passes for 415 yards and two TDs in four November games. Thomas has emerged as a top contender for the NFL's MVP — though the presumed front-runner, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, won the AFC's November award.

The Saints released TE Dan Arnold to make room for newly-signed LB Manti Te'o. They also decided to keep WR Keith Kirkwood on injured reserve for the remainder of the season instead of adding him to their active roster.

Drew Brees on the 49ers defense that's he's about to face Sunday in the Superdome: "No weak links across the board."

Saints DE Cameron Jordan was honored as the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week after his career-high four sacks in last Thursday night's win at Atlanta. Jordan now ranks second in the NFL with 13.5 sacks and is very much in the conversation for the league's Defensive Player of the Year award, as well.

The story of the Superdome is the story of New Orleans

According to local legend, the Louisiana Superdome was always a haunted place. First plagued by construction problems, then years of bad luck for the host Saints team -- by 2005 those Saints were prepared to abandon the stadium in favor of a dreaded move to San Antonio. Then Hurricane Katrina hit, and somehow the dome became a symbol for a city's rebirth. This is the story of New Orleans, through the story of its dome. Produced and reported by Eve Abrams. Narrated by Tarriona "Tank" Ball of Tank and the Bangas. Hosted by Jody Avirgan. Transcript and more at 30for30podcasts.com

The Saints are now tied for the best record in the NFC at 10-2 after the 49ers' loss at Baltimore. But the Saints will still have to beat San Francisco next Sunday in the Superdome to take control of the No. 1 seed. Should be a good one!

DT Sheldon Rankins was chosen by teammates as the Saints' 2019 Ed Block Courage Award winner for persevering through adversity. Rankins returned less than 9 months after his torn Achilles in the playoffs. He has 2 sacks and has continued to help a run defense that ranks No. 1 in the NFL since the start of 2018. “I'm proud of myself. I have not taken time to pat myself on the back - that's just not who I am. But it was big," Rankins said. "I'm not exactly where I want to be, but I will be there."

Saints DE Cameron Jordan set a unique NFL record Thursday by sacking Matt Ryan four times. Jordan has now sacked the Falcons QB 18 times — the most by any player against any QB since sacks became a statistic in 1982, per the Elias Sports Bureau. He passed up some memorable names. Dexter Manley sacked Phil Simms 17.5 times and Bruce Smith sacked Ken O'Brien 17.5 times.‬ Jordan also took over the NFL lead this year with a career-high 13.5 sacks and moved into 2nd place in Saints history with 85.

The Saints (10-2) became the first team to clinch a playoff spot this season – and they served up some revenge with a 26-18 win over the Falcons. It was another uneven performance, thanks to another barrage of penalties, some dropped passes and a stunning inability to recover onside kicks. But credit Taysom Hill for building a lead and the defense for keeping it safe. And now the Saints will aim even higher with a critical home date looming against the 49ers (10-1) next week.
