Lights, camera, #MACtion! The Mid-American Conference's head coaches and select players are at MAC media day on Thursday to kick off the 2016 season at Ford Field in Detroit. The MAC football season will conclude at the same location when it hosts the MAC championship game on Friday, Dec. 2.

The MAC is coming off a 2015 season in which a conference record-tying seven teams were invited to bowl games. The MAC went 3-4 in those bowl games. Entering the 2016 season, the MAC has been represented with 50 honorees for various award watch lists released this summer.

Western Michigan, of the West Division, was tabbed as the MAC favorite in the league's preseason media poll. Defending MAC champion Bowling Green was picked to win the East Division.
