Andre James re-signs with Raiders ahead of free agency

Center Andre James has re-signed with the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of the start of free agency, his agency announced Sunday.

Terms weren't immediately known.

James, who joined the Raiders as an undrafted rookie from UCLA in 2019, is a converted offensive tackle who replaced three-time Pro Bowler Rodney Hudson at center in 2021. James has started 48 of 51 games at center since taking over the position, missing two games in 2022 with a concussion and one game last season with an ankle injury.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound James, who turns 27 on May 2, signed a two-year, $8.65 million extension with $4 million guaranteed with Las Vegas in 2022.

Last season, James played 964 snaps and was flagged for just two penalties (a hold and a false start).

James had a 96.5% pass block win rate, per ESPN Stats & Information data, and was charged with giving up seven sacks. He also had a 70.1% run block win rate.
