San Diego 24, Azusa Pacific 12
GLENDORA, Calif. -- Sebastian Trujillo threw for two touchdowns and J.T. Rogan rushed for another to lead San Diego to a 24-12 victory over Azusa Pacific Saturday night.
Trujillo completed 8 of 12 passes for 101 yards. He connected in the end zone with John McGough in the second and Godfrey Smith in the fourth on a pair of 11-yard passes.
J.T. Rogan tallied the game's first score with a two-yard run midway through the second quarter. Rogan finished the game with 50 yards on seven carries.
Stan Shurson added a 48-yard field goal for the Toreros (1-0)
The Torero defense limited the Cougar ground game to just 12 yards on 23 carries.
Mark Berry returned a fumble 64 yards for Azusa Pacific (0-2) with less than a minute remaining. James Brunt's run for a 2-point conversion failed.
Ben Hansen kicked two field goals.
