Houston Dynamo shock Sporting Kansas City in wet MLS win

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Will Bruin scored his 10th goal of the season to help Houston beat Sporting Kansas City 3-1 on Friday night. It was just the second road win for the Dynamo this season.

Houston's only other win away from home -- in 13 attempts -- came on May 3 at Chivas USA.

Bruin had a deflected cross fall to his feet in the 35th minute and his one-touch goal gave Houston (8-13-4) a 1-0 lead. David Horst and Ricardo Clark scored on headers 5 minutes apart in the second half to break a 1-1 tie.

Kansas City's Dominic Dwyer scored his 17th goal of the season in the 54th minute. Sporting KC (12-8-6) conceded three goals for the second consecutive match and missed a chance to leapfrog Eastern Conference leader D.C. United.

Play was suspended for over an hour because of inclement weather. The 0-0 match resumed in the 17th minute.
