Paris Saint-Germain drop points vs. Bordeaux as Rolan nets late winner
Diego Rolan struck a blow to Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 title hopes with a late winner as Bordeaux claimed a 3-2 win over the capital club at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
It appeared PSG would earn a point after Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored from the penalty spot, his second goal of the game, with five minutes remaining.
But Rolan's strike two minutes later gave the Girondins the lead for the third time in the match, having earlier gone ahead through Ludovic Sane and Wahbi Khazri, and this time it proved decisive.
Defeat meant Laurent Blanc's side were unable to turn up the heat on league leaders Lyon.
Blanc's men appeared to struggle in the wake of their midweek Champions League triumph over Chelsea and it was goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu who was busiest early on.
Diego Contento warmed the Italian's gloves with a first-time effort from Isaac Kiese Thelin's cutback before Thelin fashioned his own shooting chance 20 yards out, Sirigu standing up to the test and pushing his effort away to safety.
Then, with 17 minutes on the clock, Bordeaux made the breakthrough their early efforts deserved.
Khazri's delivery direct from a corner found Sane and the Girondins captain rose above Thiago Silva to head beyond Sirigu.
The visiting fans had to wait until 25 minutes to see home keeper Cedric Carrasso tested when Thiago Motta released Ibrahimovic, but the Sweden captain's effort was well kept out.
Rolan had a chance at the other end, but could only blaze over from Contento's delivery before David Luiz was forced off just before the break with a suspected hamstring injury.
Despite being largely outplayed in the opening 45 minutes, PSG did not have to wait long after the restart to claw themselves back into the game when some lapse defending from Tiago Illori gifted Ibrahimovic a chance and he needed no second invitation to score his first goal from open play in 11 games.
Bordeaux responded and Clement Chantome thought he had reclaimed the lead for the hosts, but Sirigu's superb reflex save kept the scores level, if only for a matter of seconds.
Khazri's first-time volley looped away from Sirigu's goal, but Thelin was on hand to nod the ball back into the unmarked Tunisian's path and he headed the ball into the empty net, with the PSG keeper stranded.
The champions offered an instant response and Ezequiel Lavezzi had two chances to level from close range following Ibrahimovic's cutback, but a magnificent double save from Carrasso kept Bordeaux's advantage intact.
PSG were offered an ideal opportunity to level when Lavezzi went down under a Mariano challenge inside the area and referee Lionel Jaffrdo pointed at the spot.
Ibrahimovic stepped up and made no mistake to level, but in a frantic finish there was still time for one more goal.
Following some great build-up play involving Jaroslav Plasil and Contento, Mariano escaped to the byline and his pull back found an unmarked Rolan, who sent the ball beyond Sirigu to claim a well deserved win for the hosts.
