Swindon sink Posh

Mark Cooper made a triumphant return to London Road as Swindon completed a hat-trick of wins over fellow League One promotion rivals by beating Peterborough 2-1.The Swindon chief, sacked after just 13 games as Posh boss in 2010, saw his current side follow up successes over Preston and Bristol City with another big three points.Andy Williams fired them ahead with a low finish off the inside of a post when converting a Harry Toffolo cut-back in the 33rd minute and the Robins doubled their advantage two minutes after the restart as one-time Posh loanee Jonathan Obika dived to head in a Ben Gladwin free-kick.Not even the homecoming of double-promotion hero Aaron Mclean, who has returned on loan from Bradford, could inspire Posh who have now taken one point from a possible 15.Joe Newell did halve their arrears with a fine 20-yard strike in stoppage time, but it was a case of too little, too late.Newell earlier had a strong penalty appeal ignored when the game was still goalless and Posh substitute Conor Washington contrived to hit the bar when left with an open goal late on.
