Losing start for Liverani

Aaron McLean and Erhun Oztumer were on target as Peterborough secured a 2-1 win at Leyton Orient. It proved a disappointing introduction to the English game for Orient's Italian manager Fabio Liverani, the club's fourth manager this season, while visiting boss Darren Ferguson was able to claim his first win in eight league games.Posh had taken the lead after nine minutes when one-time O's striker McLean found himself unmarked and left with the simplest of chances to head home a cross from the left delivered by Joe Newell.Orient responded positively, dictating the play and earned their reward after 39 minutes when Bradley Pritchard and Dean Cox combined to create an opportunity for Shaun Batt to volley home low into corner from the edge of the penalty area. The visitors regained the lead within two minutes after the interval from a set-piece. Taking a free-kick just outside the penalty area, Oztumer curled a left-footed shot around the wall and inside the near post.Orient found very little to test their opponents afterwards although Posh finished the game with 10 men when Newell, having been booked earlier in the second half, picked up a second yellow card for a trip. From the resultant free-kick, a goalmouth melee saw a shot by Orient's 16-year-old substitute Victor Adeboyejo cleared off the goal-line.
