Eintracht Frankfurt 2-2 Hannover 96
Struggling Hannover came from two goals down to grab a 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday and relieve some of the pressure on their coach Tayfun Korkut.Alexander Madlung and Stefan Aigner gave the Eagles a two-goal cushion which looked like it would be good enough for all three points, but Marcelo brought Hannover back into the game before Didier Ya Konan levelled late on.Although the draw means Hannover are still without a win in 2015, the manner in which it came about will make it feel like a victory at the Waldstadion.Hannover coach Korkut had been given a vote of confidence prior to the game with club president Martin Kind saying he was ``convinced'' he was the right man to guide them to safety. That faith did not seem all that misplaced either as the Reds took the game to their hosts, creating the first big opening of the game in the 14th minute when Edgar Prib only had Kevin Trapp to beat, but the Frankfurt custodian made himself big and came out on top.The hosts had a rare chance to take the lead with Alexander Meier's free-kick was saved well by Ron-Robert Zieler, and they went in front from their next free-kick in the 27th minute.Bastian Oczipka curled the ball in for Madlung, who was left completely unmarked to head past Zieler.Hannover's goalkeeper was beaten again 10 minutes into the second half when he was let down by his defenders, who gifted the ball to Haris Seferovic to set up Aigner and he could not miss the open goal.Korkut looked to his bench with Jan Schlaudraff and Miiko Albornoz sent on, and the changes brought immediate dividends.Ya Konan's shot was turned behind for a corner, which Hiroshi Kiyotake sent in for Marcelo to score, albeit unintentionally with the ball going in off his back in the 68th minute. The game entered into its final 10 minutes with Hannover showing a keenness to level, and it was captain Lars Stindl, who announced during the week that he will be leaving to join Borussia Monchengladbach next season, who supplied it.He timed his pass to perfection for Ya Konan, who left Trapp no chance, burying his first goal of the season in only his third appearance. They nearly grabbed a winner too with Stindl netting at the death, but the offside flag cut short his and the travelling fans' celebrations.ends
