Arbroath v Albion
2014/2015 Scottish Division Three
Paul McManus - 66'
Arbroath flying high
Arbroath rubber-stamped their status as early pace-setters in Scottish League Two with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over visitors Albion. However the Red Lichties had to come through a tough battle at Gayfield Park, and it was not until midway through the second half that they made the breakthrough.Mark Whatley was the architect of the only goal, angling a pass into the penalty area for Paul McManus to shoot right-footed into the bottom right corner and leave Neil Parry with little chance of saving the day.Up to then it had been an even contest, Gary Phillips and Gary Fisher threatening a goal for Albion, with Kevin Buchan and Robert Linn going close for the home side.
