FC Copenhagen 2-0 HJK Helsinki

Substitute Nicolai Jorgensen netted twice as FC Copenhagen kicked off their Europa League Group B campaign with a 2-0 triumph over HJK Helsinki in the Danish capital. It had looked like the hosts would be frustrated in their bid for victory when Andreas Cornelius' penalty just after the hour was saved by Antonio Doblas. But Jorgensen - who had only been on the pitch for 10 minutes - put FCK ahead by lashing into the top-right corner from close range in the 68th minute and then put the result beyond doubt eight minutes from time by heading home a second.Helsinki goalkeeper Doblas was called into action a couple of times in the first half, parrying solid efforts from Alex Kacaniklic. There was little else in the way of goalmouth action, however, with both sides largely restricted to long-range attempts.Teemu Tainio fired wide for the visitors early on, with Cornelius, Rurik Gislason and Bashkim Kadrii off-target for the hosts. The second half continued in much the same vein, with FCK enjoying the lion's share of the chances.Gislason drilled another shot wide and Cornelius blasted over the bar before they were handed a golden opportunity to open the scoring from the spot courtesy of Tainio's foul on Kacaniklic, only for Doblas to keep out Cornelius' penalty. The home team continued to press, however, and were duly rewarded midway through the second period when Jorgensen tucked a right-footed shot high into Doblas' net.The substitute almost doubled his and his team's tally within four minutes when he let fly from the edge of the box, but the visitors were saved by the woodwork.Jorgensen was not to be denied soon after, though, as he nodded home Pierre Bengtsson's left-wing cross to make the points safe. The margin of victory would have been even greater had Claudemir's 88th-minute shot not been saved by Doblas.ends
