Arbroath maintain promotion charge

Leaders Arbroath maintained their promotion push as they thrashed Clyde 4-0 at Gayfield Park.Paul McManus gave them an early lead from the penalty spot after 16 minutes before Simon Murray fired home a second moments afterwards. The visitors struggled to recover from the quick-fire double and only Stephen O'Donnell could offer a reply, firing wide from distance.Victory was all but ensured three minutes before the break when Robert Linn added a third with a fine strike into the top corner. And Murray added further gloss on the whistle, bagging his second to leave the Bully Wee with a mountain to climb.Jordan Lowdon and Adam Hunter could have added more after the break were it not for some fine goalkeeping from Clyde keeper Alan Martin.
