Scunthorpe keep League One play-off hopes alive

A fourth straight win kept Scunthorpe's Sky Bet League One play-off hopes alive as they triumphed 2-0 at Peterborough.A second-half own goal by Ricardo Santos and a close-range header from substitute Tom Hopper left the Iron two points behind sixth-placed Barnsley with two matches to play.In the first-half, Scunthorpe's Kyle Wootton and Posh's Jon Taylor both headed over from close range, while the hosts' Leo Da Silva Lopes had a shot well saved by Luke Daniels.Daniels then made a low save from half-time substitute Aaron Williams, but Posh were punished in the 51st minute when Santos could only miscue a Jordan Clarke cross past 39-year-old goalkeeper Mark Tyler, who was making his second debut for the home side almost 22 years after his first.Scunthorpe were then adamant they should have had a penalty for a Harry Beautyman tug on Stephen Dawson, but referee Phil Gibbs instead gave a free-kick.However, it did not matter as Hopper met Paddy Madden's cross 14 minutes from time to seal the win.
