Doncaster sink local rivals Chesterfield with three second-half goals

Goals from Nathan Tyson, Andy Williams and Cameron Stewart ensured a miserable return to the Keepmoat Stadium for former Doncaster boss Dean Saunders as his Chesterfield side were sunk 3-0 by their local rivals. Two goals in the space of eight second-half minutes from Tyson and Williams did the damage, with substitute Stewart adding a third in stoppage-time as the Spireites slipped to a third straight defeat.Dan Gardner wasted a great early chance for Chesterfield, firing wide from the edge of the box after Lee Novak had played him in.Williams then scooped Conor Grant's well-worked free-kick over the bar three minutes later and Cedric Evina ended a jinking run by driving a 20-yarder just over, before Novak fired wide at the other end.Rovers loanee Felipe Mattioni was twice involved at the start of the second half. First his scorching run set up Williams, whose shot was saved by Tommy Lee, and then the Brazilian saw an effort curl just wide. There was much more intensity on show now and after Tyson had a shot saved by Lee, Rovers won a penalty as Daniel Jones handled Mattioni's attempted flick.Tyson's 62nd-minute spot-kick was well saved by Spireites keeper Lee, but he followed up to ram the ball home.Eight minutes later, Williams combined brilliantly with Evina to start and finish a move which ended with the frontman sweeping the ball in from 10 yards.Williams nearly had a second, but prodded Stewart's cross wide. However, Doncaster did net another with Stewart himself breaking clear to finish with aplomb at the death.
