Stade Rennes 0-3 Guingamp
Guingamp took a big step towards Ligue 1 survival with a comprehensive 3-0 win at Rennes in the Brittany derby.Three second-half goals in the space of 14 minutes from Moustapha Diallo, Jimmy Briand and Younousse Sankhare helped seal a second succesive away win, moving the visitors eight points clear of the bottom three with four games left.Defeat for Rennes, their second 3-0 loss in a row following last week's defeat to Nice, leaves them three points off fourth place with a tough-looking clash against Monaco to come before a daunting trip to Paris St Germain.Guingamp came flying out of the blocks and, within the opening 60 seconds, Marcus Coco looked like he might open the scoring after seeing off Mexer and making his way into the area, but the 19-year-old's effort failed to trouble Benoit Costil.Thibault Giresse was next to have a go at the Rennes goal just after the 20 minute-mark, but his half-volley flew wildly off target from Briand's flick. At the other end Yoann Gourcuff's inswinging corner found Romain Danze at the back post, but the defender opted for a first-time effort which Jonas Lossl got down to keep out.Briand wasted the last opportunity of the half, firing straight at Costil while under pressure from Mexer. The hosts could easily have been ahead within five minutes of the restart, but Lossl did superbly to deny the much-coveted Ousmane Dembele's header before Lars Jacobsen cleared off the line from Mexer.Instead it was Guingamp who finally made the breakthrough in the 63rd minute when Moustapha Diallo's back-post effort just crept over the line before Costil cleared. That goal appeared to invigorate the visitors and Jocelyn Gourvennec's side doubled their lead 10 minutes later thanks to Briand's cheeky finish from close range, the former Lyon man back-heeling Giresse's cutback beyond Costil. And Giresse made it a hat-trick of assists to seal the points, teeing up Sankhare to head home a third.ends
