Arbroath produce spirited second-half comeback to defeat Berwick
Two goals in as many second-half minutes helped Arbroath come from behind to claim a 3-1 home win over Berwick.Rangers hit the post inside the first minute as Blair Henderson chased down a long punt upfield from Ewan McNeil and pulled the ball back for Ross Drummond but his shot deflected against the woodwork.Drummond saw another shot spilled by Allan Fleming and almost scored direct from a corner in the 23rd minute as the visitors looked the side more likely to open the scoring. And they got the goal their pressure deserved from the penalty spot after David Morris was brought down by Craig Watson. Henderson sent Fleming the wrong way.Arbroath thought they should have had a spot-kick of their own when McNeil appeared to handle in the area but the referee waved away appeals.Berwick should have done better on the break at the start of the second half but Michael McKenna and Finn Graham could not make the most of a two-on-one situation. The game was turned on its head in two second-half minutes as Bobby Linn equalised after collecting Fleming's long ball over the top and then Craig Wilson found the top corner with a neat left-foot finish to put Arbroath ahead.Darren Ramsay was denied a third by a stunning save from Kevin Walker but there was still time for the same player to lob the goalkeeper from 35 yards to seal victory.
