Borussia Monchengladbach crush Eintracht Frankfurt
Borussia Monchengladbach made it four wins out of four under the guidance of caretaker coach Andre Schubert, beating Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 at the Waldstadion to continue their rise up the Bundesliga.Raffael gave the Foals the lead in the 16th minute when he was on hand to turn the ball in after Lars Stindl's shot was only parried by Lukas Hradecky.Frankfurt levelled on the half-hour mark when Yann Sommer fouled Luc Castaignos inside the penalty area, and Alexander Meier slotted in his fifth of the season from the spot.Mahmoud Dahoud restored Gladbach's lead five minutes into the second half with a shot which took a wicked deflection off David Abraham to leave Hradecky with no chance in the Frankfurt goal.Fabian Johnson hit the post and Lars Stindl sent the rebound wide with the goal gaping, but Raffael showed them both how it should be done to double his side's lead in the 57th minute.Andre Hahn then completed the scoring with a late brace, first netting from the penalty spot after Dahoud had his route to goal blocked unfairly and then scoring from the same position with a moving ball to complete the rout.
