Northampton leave it late to sink Northwich
Northampton hit three late goals to complete a remarkable comeback to beat Northwich Victoria 3-2 in the FA Cup.The lowest-ranked team left in the competition led 2-0 at Sixfields, with goals in each half from Jimmy Ball and Richard Bennett. But Cobblers hit three goals in four minutes, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin bagging the winner.Northampton started brightly as Calvert-Lewin was denied by Mason Springthorpe and Nicky Adams fired wide.The Sky Bet League Two side continued to create the early chances and Joel Byrom tested Springthorpe, who also saved from Ryan Cresswell while Lawson D'Ath headed wide.But the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League outfit broke the deadlock in the 44th minute. Cobblers failed to clear from a corner and Ball beat Adam Smith from the edge of the box.After the restart, Zander Diamond saw his goal-bound header blocked but Brian Summerskill hit the crossbar before Northwich rocked the home side by doubling their advantage in the 63rd minute when Bennett headed home.And it took a decent save from Smith to deny Jordan Williams while Bennett fired over. In between, Springthorpe saved from Byrom and Calvert-Lewin fired wide.Cobblers reduced the arrears in the 86th minute when Sam Hoskins fired home after being set up by Adams and a minute later he crossed for Jason Taylor to head home the equaliser.Cobblers won it in the 87th minute when substitute Ricky Holmes crossed for Calvert-Lewin to head a third.
