Jeunesse Esch 2-1 St Patricks
St Patrick's advanced to the Europa League second qualifying round on away goals after a 2-1 loss at Luxembourg's Jeunesse Esch on Tuesday saw the tie end 2-2 on aggregate.
Patrick Stumpf's finish on 22 minutes put Jeunesse 1-0 up in the first-round second leg to draw things level overall before Darren Dennehy headed in a crucial away goal for the Irish side in the 73rd minute.
Stumpf scored again with three minutes remaining to set up a nervy finale but the hosts' pressure thereafter was in vain and they had Adrien Portier sent off in injury time as he received a second yellow card.
St Patrick's will now face either Dinamo Minsk of Belarus or Spartaks Jurmala of Latvia in the next round.
