Neymar nets four, Cavani ties Ibra record as PSG thrash Dijon

The world's most expensive player Neymar plundered four goals as Paris Saint-Germain reasserted their dominance of Ligue 1 with a 8-0 thrashing of Dijon at the Parc des Princes.

It took Angel Di Maria only four minutes to light the touchpaper on a totally one-sided match in the capital and with 15 minutes gone the Argentinian had doubled PSG's lead.

Six minutes later, Edinson Cavani drew level with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the Parisians' all-time scoring charts by notching his 156th goal for the club.

If Dijon had been in any doubt as to the outcome of the encounter, the home side's £200.6 million striker Neymar made it 4-0 shortly before the break, and the Brazilian would strike again three minutes before the hour.

His treble, claimed at the end of a fine dribble, was complete not long after and there was still time for Kylian Mbappe, who had started on the bench, to fire a seventh goal beyond beleaguered Dijon goalkeeper Baptiste Reynet.

Just to rub salt into the wound, Neymar buried a penalty past Reynet in the 83rd minute.
