Grimsby and Lincoln settle for a point
Nothing could separate Grimsby and Lincoln as the first Lincolnshire derby of the season ended goalless. Both sides found they cancelled each other out in a contest that lacked real quality at Blundell Park.Grimsby had an early shout for a penalty turned down when Siriki Dembele's cross seemingly struck a Lincoln hand.It was a frantic start by both teams, but neither could create any chances until Matt Green found a bit of space in the penalty area, only to scuff his effort straight into the arms of James McKeown.Nathan Arnold went close with an effort from distance, but neither side looked likely to open the scoring in the first half.Lincoln came out after the break well though, and Harry Anderson forced McKeown to make a smart stop with his feet after receiving the ball on the right of the box.Michael Bostwick brought another good save out of McKeown late on, but both sides were forced to settle for a point each.
