Sean McConville stars as Accrington ease to victory

A Sean McConville double secured Accrington their fourth league win of the Sky Bet League Two season with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Carlisle. The Cumbrians wasted a great chance to go ahead after seven minutes when Richie Bennett's cross skimmed across the goal-line but nobody could tap it home and, after that, Stanley dominated.McConville was denied by the crossbar in the 14th minute as he let fly from 25 yards, but Billy Kee made the next effort count.Carlisle goalkeeper Jack Bonham cleared a ball which was headed back to Kee by Mark Hughes and the striker slotted home his fifth goal of the season from the edge of the area.McConville made it two from a curling 20-yard free-kick after 43 minutes following a foul on Kayden Jackson by Tom Miller. It should have been three when Jackson was sent clean through five minutes after the restart but Bonham pulled off a brave save to deny the forward at his feet.McConville, though, made no mistake after 57 minutes when he weaved his way into the area and curled the ball home.Aaron Chapman denied Carlisle substitutes Shaun Miller and Jason Kennedy while Stanley sub Mallik Wilks was thwarted by Bonham. The Cumbrians keeper then did well to stop McConville celebrating a hat-trick.
